As the only Chinese enterprise shortlisted for the first batch of energy storage bidding in Greece, liankexihe continues to help the development of green economy in China and Greece
On the afternoon of November 3, 2023, Jinping Xi stressed that mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanges of civilizations are the two major ties in China Greece relations. Not long ago, the Greek government sent high-level representatives to attend the third belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum, reflecting its support for the co construction of the belt and road cooperation. China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Greece, expand cooperation opportunities in green economy, digital economy and scientific and technological innovation, and promote high-quality joint construction of the "belt and road".
In Greece’s first-ever energy storage tender held not long ago, a total of 3.3GW of 93 projects participated in the bidding. The Hermes 100MW energy storage power station independently developed by Lianke Xihe was qualified and became the only Chinese company to be shortlisted for the qualified project. It is also one of the largest single projects in this bidding. This shortlisting shows that the energy storage project developed by Lianke Xihe Greenland fully complies with the technical and financial requirements of the Greek approval authority. It also means that Lianke Xihe's energy storage solution has met the review standards of the Greek power grid.
Greece’s newly established Waste, Energy and Water Regulatory Agency (RAAEY) has developed plans for a 1GW energy storage tender. The plan will be completed by three separate auctions, with auction capacity of 400MW, 300MW and 300MW respectively. Qualified bidders must provide the regulator with three bank and financial institution guarantees proving their financial soundness, namely: a participation guarantee (€35,000/MW), a timely operating performance guarantee (€250,000/MW) and Quality operation guarantee (€200,000/MW). The Greek government will provide matching financial support to the winning projects. The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy has allocated 450 million euros from Greece’s emergency reserve fund to support specific energy storage projects, of which 200 million euros in special funds are used to support this tender.
Although most of the first round of bidding was won by Greek state-owned enterprises, Lianke Xihe will continue to make its own contribution to the green economy of China and Greece in subsequent rounds.
